Nissan is proud to be a part of Habitat for Humanity’s first nationwide campaign #HomeIsTheKey. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness and funds to improve society’s access to decent shelter. During the Month of April, for every single #HomeIsTheKey post on social media, Nissan will donate $1 to Habitat for Humanity, all the up to $250,000.
“Decent shelter is something we all need to thrive, and yet many in the U.S. still live in inadequate housing conditions, creating barriers to opportunity, success, stability and health,” says Colleen Finn Ridenhour, Senior Vice President of Development at Habitat for Humanity International. “We are grateful to Nissan for partnering with us in our efforts to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.”
We know that there is a critical need to address the housing issues in our society today. Nissan started teaming with Habitat over 12 years ago with a donation of 50 trucks and volunteers to aid the people of the Gulf Coast right after Hurricane Katrina. $14 million and 85,000 volunteer hours later, the family here at Nissan is still supporting Habitat for Humanity in whatever way we can.
“Studies have shown that a stable home plays a key role in positively influencing a family’s education, health, and financial opportunities,” stated Nissan North America’s Marketing Communications and Media vice president, Jeremy Tucker. “For this reason, Nissan invites our customers to help unlock a family’s future by joining us during the April campaign.”
Nissan is elated to be teaming with Habitat for Humanity to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through home ownership. Your friends here at Nissan are always looking for new ways to help the community around us, and the #HomeIsTheKey campaign is the perfect chance for us to jump in on a great cause. We hope you join in as well!
