“F-150’s smart engineering, plus the innovative combination of its high-strength steel frame and high-strength, military-grade, aluminum alloy body continues to demonstrate enduring customer benefits – from repeated class-leading crash test performance to best-in-class towing and payload,” stated Hau Thai-Tang, Ford executive vice president, Product Development and Purchasing.
The 2019 Ford F-150 had a successful session at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) pickup truck crash testing, scoring better than the half-ton competitors. This truck proudly scored the best rating possible of ‘Good’ on every measurable test. When you take a look at the truck’s competitors, you will find some other ‘Good’ scores, but no truck brings you the consistent and elite safety that you will find with the 2019 Ford F-150. The All-New Ram 1500 and the Nissan Titan both had ‘Good’ overall passenger and driver side overlap tests, while the Toyota Tundra earned the lowest possible scores: a “Marginal” rating during the overall driver side and a “Poor” rating during the passenger side overall test. Both the new Chevrolet Silverado and the GMC Sierra also received low marks during the passenger side structure portion of the crash test and the passenger side test.
There are a number of different ways that the Ford F-150 prepares to help with crash resilience. This truck is outfitted with the patented extruded aluminum roof cross member and special wheel blockers that work to deflect and absorb any impact that you may encounter. The Ram 1500 features a brand new splayed frame rail up front that serves the same purpose, but not with the same reliability that you will get from the Ford F-150. Not only will you get a lightweight yet heavy-duty and sturdy body on your F-150, but it also comes complete with a full suite of safety features that can boost both peace of mind and drivability. This truck comes with a 360-degree Camera featuring Split-View and a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®). These two features work together to keep you aware of everything that is happening around your vehicle at any time. If a collision does occur, the SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ will help emergency personnel find your vehicle and keep other accidents from happening. Come to one of our Preston Motor Ford locations today, and test drive the top-rated Ford F-150 that piques your interest the most.
