The Mazda 100th anniversary was made possible in Hiroshima on January 30, 1920, as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co. It was then renamed Toyo Kogyo Co., Ltd. in 1927, and needed to be saved from bankruptcy by Hiroshima Saving Bank and other business leaders. From 1946 to 1959, reconstruction after the war started, and Mazda established a three-wheel truck mass production system.
Afterward, they gained access to the passenger market and became a full-line automaker. Over the years, they continued making improvements, especially between 2016 to 2020. At that point, Mazda decided to go under a period of significant transformation, aiming to exist in harmony with the earth and society. Preston Mazda is excited about these current transformations, and would like for you to stop by for more details!
The man behind the Mazda 100th anniversary brands was the second president of Mazda, Jujiro Matsuda, who was always driven by his passion for manufacturing. Matsuda moved to Osaka at age 13 to work, where the former president realized he needed to dedicate his life to the machine industry. Thanks to his hard work and dedication, his vision for Mazda has maneuvered through roads for 100 years.
